Qualco Group renews its partnership with Athinaikos for the 2025–26 season
Qualco Group has renewed its partnership with the Athinaikos women’s basketball team for the 2025–2026 season, continuing as the team’s title sponsor and main supporter. Once again, Athinaikos Qualco begins its journey towards the top, with a strategic ally firmly believing in the power of sport and women’s empowerment.
The previous season was exceptionally successful for Athinaikos Qualco, which secured 2nd place in the Greek Women’s Basketball League and returned to European competitions, taking part in the 2025–2026 EuroCup. This marks a historic moment, as the team returns to international competition fifteen years after winning the European trophy in 2010.
With a long and illustrious history, Athinaikos Qualco remains the only Greek women’s basketball team ever to have claimed a European title. During the 2009–2010 season, it won the “treble” — the national championship, the Greek Cup, and the European title. In total, the team boasts seven domestic trophies and one European title. Entering the new season, Athinaikos Qualco fields 16 players who embody dedication, passion, and perseverance.
Michalis Nikoletos, Senior Advisor at Qualco Group and member of the Athinaikos Qualco Executive Committee, stated:
“Our support for Athinaikos reflects the organisation’s commitment to strengthening women’s sport and promoting positive role models. At Qualco Group, we strive to give back to society, and supporting women’s sport is a fundamental part of that philosophy. We are proud to stand by a historic team that continues to inspire future generations.”
Regarding the partnership with Qualco Group, Haris Politis, Head of the Athinaikos Qualco Executive Committee, noted:
“The support of Qualco Group, such a strong and reliable partner, allows us to set higher goals and continue to compete at the top level in Greece and across Europe. We are truly delighted to embark on this new season together.”
Together, Athinaikos and Qualco Group share a vision of a future in which women’s sport receives the recognition and momentum it deserves. For the Group, this is a strategic choice highlighting the role of sport as a platform for women’s empowerment and social progress.
