“Women in Tech: Breaking the glass ceiling”: An Experts Talk by ImpacTalk
Aiming to inspire young women and break the stereotypes in the male-dominated STEM sector, “Women in Tech: Breaking the glass ceiling”, our first Experts Talk in collaboration with ImpacTalk, is officially on air!
Denia Kanellopoulou, Innovation Services Specialist at NCSR Demokritos, Chrysavgi Salaka, VP Solution Design & Customer Consulting at Qualco Group, and Evangelia Balatsou, Neuroscientist in AI, Speech AI Specialist, Founder of Greek Girls Code, and member of Lean In Startup Community narrate their professional experiences in STEM; What initially attracted them in this sector and what kind of biases they faced during their career paths.
Ntenia Kanellopoulou highlights that there is no limit to what women can accomplish; “Limits and stereotypes are basically contrived by our society.”
“We are being evaluated for our work, our values, and our attitude, not our gender”, as our very own Chrysavgi Salaka points out while emphasising the contribution of corporate culture to gender equality.
Stressing the reasons why women’s STEM representation has to be enhanced, Evaggelia Balatsou states, “There is no biogenic reason demonstrating that men are better than women in the technology sector. If we manage to debunk this stereotype, new horizons will open up for the next generations of women.”
