Why Greece – The domestic institutional investor viewpoint | 23rd Annual Capital Link Invest in Greece, New York Forum
The 23rd Annual Capital Link Invest in Greece, supported by Qualco Group, was successfully held on April 11, offering a platform that updates US investors on developments in Greece, promoting business and investment opportunities while positioning Greece as an attractive investment destination.
Among other esteemed speakers, John Gikopoulos, Chief Innovation Officer at Qualco Group, shared views about a fascinating discussion with the title “Why Greece – The domestic institutional investor viewpoint.”
“During the past few years, digital acceleration is part of an overall shift in the Greek technology sector.”, Mr. Gikopoulos stated, opening his thesis. “In my point of view, this sector constitutes a major opportunity for domestic and international investors for three reasons; firstly, Covid-19 has acted as the ultimate catalyst, accelerating companies’ willingness to adopt technology. At the same time, the economic crisis had transformed the typical way of working in the country. Combining these factors led to a remarkable result at a global scale.”, he continued.
“Secondly, an entire digital ecosystem has been formed across education, research, the public sector, and corporate entities in the country, which has led to the accumulation of talent, one of our most important differentiators.” Mr. Gikopoulos declared.
Last but not least, Mr. Gikopoulos emphasised the vital role of the country’s location. “Greece is located at a global junction, allowing us to serve both Asia and the Americas. To this end, providing local and global talent with the opportunity to work, for instance, on an island or close to Greek nature, is truly remarkable.”, he stated.
